| My No System Sounds story and I how resolved this. |

This is the story of how I fix the annoying problem of losing my Windows System Sounds, this site will help you when you have no systems sounds working. I've now added additional information in this page of Frequently Asked Questions How I lost the system soundsI installed a Spy ware cleaner which most people now use on a daily basis, thinking "Great, not only am I cleaning my computer of any spy ware I will also be cleaning the registry up and get rid of everything it doesn't need" WRONG! After doing this I quickly noticed, I couldn't hear any sounds made by XP, MSN, Flash files so basically couldn't hear sound from YouTube, Google and any other site with sound in a flash file. What I didn't realise was it was deleting a registry key that should not be deleted and because I don't know which registry key they were I couldn't restore them... Well after months of googling and reading various topics on how to fix it nothing worked! I tried all sorts, from reg fixes, windows restore, installing drivers again, changing the pci slot for the sound card but nothing worked! After posting on loads of forums most people agreed the only way to get it back was to do re-install my copy of Windows! I didn't want to do that! There had to be another way! Well I found it! This is how to fix your No System Sounds problem or Lost System SoundsThe No System Sounds problem can be easily fixed by installing the K-Lite Codec Pack! Then what you need to do is go to Start > Programs > K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > Codec Tweak Tool and check the box next to [Registry] Fix non-working system sound.
Click Next and your done! Now your previous No System Sounds problem will be resolved and working as it used to be... You will be able hear all your browser clicks, windows start up sounds, msn sounds, flash sounds! Maybe give it a try and see if it works for you, it worked for me! |
